Laser Therapy

What is Laser Therapy?

Laser Therapy is the use of specific wavelengths of light (red and near-infrared) to stimulate the body’s natural ability to heal.  The effects of laser energy include improved healing time, pain reduction, increased circulation and decreased swelling.

Is Laser Therapy Safe?

With over 20 years of use, laser therapy has continued to advance and has very few side effects. In some cases, symptoms may feel aggravated after Laser treatment, which is a good indication that the healing process has been stimulated. This treatment is also painless, with most patients reporting mild warmth or tingling. Some contraindicating medical conditions may require further evaluation, which will be discussed during your consultation.

Am I a Good Candidate for Laser Therapy?

During your initial visit with our health care team, your individual condition and concerns will be evaluated through a medical examination and diagnostic testing. Based on those results, we will help you determine the best course of treatment for you.

How Many Laser Therapy Sessions Will I Need?

Conditions laser therapy treats

While many patients feel improvement after the first session, it may take multiple appointments in order to effectively treat your individual condition. Our health care team and professional chiropractor will help you determine the best course of treatment for you in order to eliminate your pain and add quality to your life. Science & Research During Laser Therapy, infrared laser light interacts with tissues at the cellular level increasing metabolic activity within the cell. By improving the transport of nutrients across the cell membrane, the increased production of cellular energy (ATP) is stimulated. The cascade of beneficial effects that follows includes increased cellular function and tissue repair. Laser Therapeutic Effects During each painless treatment, laser energy increases circulation, drawing water, oxygen, and nutrients to the damaged area. This creates an optimal healing environment that reduces inflammation, swelling, muscle spasms, stiffness, and pain. As the injured area returns to normal, function is restored and pain is relieved.
